The Council of ministers has approved the prerogative law of reform that will allow them to change workers rights in businesses. The text contains an agreement between the government and Social Service agencies that was formed on May 9 after 14 months of negotiations.
The objective which came into force from June 1 is to reduce the amount of temporary itinerant labour and put more people back into permanent employment. The new rules allow the government to reward businesses if they employ workers with a certain type of contract and not others.
The Employment minister Jesus Caldera has asked for all interested parties to respect the content and not to present amendments so the bill has to be taken to congress.
The new law will hope to cretae more than one million places of work in 2 years.
