The tragedy of the Madrid train bombs and the effect it had had on the whole of Spain is well known. Muslims are now regarded with wholehearted suspicion. Those who were attempting to integrate after emigrating from Africa, work for their money, but no longer want to reside only to earn and return.

The political map was changed.

Zapatero undoubtedly owes his premiership to the bombs and it is interesting to note that this reminder of the zeal with which the opposition party PP condemned the Basque revolutionaries/terrorists is to be cunningly reminded to the people of Spain by the schedule.

The main losers though were of course those whom lost their lives and their families. Unfortunately for them they will never get back what they have lost and vengeance is only an empty vessel for such loss.
