Andalusian President Manuel Chaves will meet with Spanish Prime Minister Rodriguez Zapatero later this week to discuss the outcome of yesterday's elections in which the people of Andalucia voted overwhelmingly for further devolution.

The discussions will centre around how to transfer the existing powers that are presently held by central government in Madrid into Andalusian hands. Presently, as in much of Spain, the fiscal and economic status of Andalucia is governed by Madrid as are heath schooling and transport. During the process of changeover these will change and be controlled by the Andalusian.
