Sevilla regained the lead at the top of La Liga last night, after beating 9-man Barca 2-1 at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan. Barcelona took the lead on 14 minutes after a superb cross by Gianluca Zambrotta found Ronaldinho, who perfectly executed the finish. The excellent Ronaldinho then had a chance to put Barca two goals ahead. On 28 minutes, he raced in to the box and was brought down by Sevilla’s Aitor Ocio, who was subsequently red-carded for his efforts. Ronaldinho however, failed to capitalise and the spot-kick was saved by Sevilla goalkeeper, Andres Palop. The penalty save prompted a change in fortunes for Sevilla, who then pressed forward and claimed an equalising goal just before half time, through Alexander Kerzahov. In the second half, Barcelona appeared to self destruct, as they conceded a second goal on sixty minutes courtesy of a Daniel Alves free-kick, then both Gianluca Zambrotta and Ludovic Giuly received their marching orders from the referee, as Barca lost 2 very important players along with the lead at the top of La Liga.Elsewhere in La Liga, Fernando Morientes scored a crucial goal at the Mestalla, as Valencia beat Celta Vigo 1-0, to put Valencia at third spot in La Liga.
