The Bulls at Pamplona Gore More but Bring in the Tourists

The third day of the bull-running has taken place in Pamplona. An American following in the footsteps of Hemingway has been gored amid great media attention. He is doing well in hospital. To less attention a Greek student has been gored in the face.

The annual runs at Pamplona are the envy of every publicist in the world; where else can there be found such organised massacre where foreigners get themselves mauled.

Pamplona is a thriving city.

The San Fermin festival draws tourists from around the world, who don traditional all-white garb with a red sash around the waist and red kerchief around the neck before running through narrow, twisting cobbled streets, pursued by bulls.

The flight lasts about four minutes and usually only the foreigners get hurt; the native Spanish are too busy selling souvenirs.
